December 10th marks the anniversary of the acceptance by the UN General Assembly of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights
The Mothers of the Plaza de Mayo (Spanish: Asociación Madres de Plaza de Mayo) is a unique organization of Argentine women who have become human rights activists in order to achieve a common goal. For over three decades, the Mothers have fought for the right to re-unite with their abducted children “disappeared” during the Dirty War, the military dictatorship between 1976 and 1983.
